Settlement Survival

Settlement Survival is a city builder strategy game. The title, for which the source of inspiration was the game Banished, was developed by the Gleamer Studio team.

Storyline

In Settlement Survival we stand at the head of a group of people looking for a new home. Our task is to erect a prosperous settlement from scratch, which will not only constantly develop, but also face all adversities.

Mechanics

In Settlement Survival the action is shown from a bird's eye view. We start the game by finding the right place for the settlement; we have to pay attention to both the terrain and access to valuable resources. Next, there is nothing left for us to do but to start clearing forests, erecting buildings, as well as to start producing food, acquiring various resources and manufacturing various goods. We can sell the surplus raw materials and products or exchange them for the goods we lack.

If we do everything right, over time our village starts doing better and better, and we can focus on its development. The game implements a number of technology trees dedicated to specific areas - from trade and education, mining, construction and agriculture to logistics and living conditions. Each of them provides us with access to increasingly advanced buildings and skills. In addition, we should take care of the growing needs of our subjects, providing them with security and access to entertainment, education and work. The title also allows us to modify the landscape - with a single stroke of the cursor we can level hills, create valleys or form rivers and lakes.

Even the most prosperous settlement, however, can turn out to be nothing in a clash with the forces of nature. Seasons change on procedurally generated maps, and from time to time tornadoes rage, among other things, which, if we are not prepared for their arrival, can thwart our ambitious plans.

Technical issues

The graphic design of the Settlement Survival game was kept in a colorful and clear low poly style (based on clearly visible polygons).
