Evil West

Evil West is an action adventure game maintained in the atmosphere of the Weird West. The work of the Polish studio Flying Wild Hog takes us to a world full of monsters - as a member of a secret organization we fight creatures native to myths and horrors.

The plot

At the beginning of the 18th century, the Rentier Institute, a secret group protecting New World explorers from vampires, was founded. In an alternate version of the Wild West, people are still threatened by supernatural entities, and the group of hunters is the last line of resistance against the bloodsuckers.

One of the most effective agents of the organization is the unruly Jesse Rentier, who is written to become its director. The hero will have to prove himself as a leader, stopping a vampire conspiracy that could bring doom to the human world. In this mission he will be supported by doctor Emilia Blackwell and veteran Edgar Gravenor, pulled from retirement.

Mechanics

Evil West is a first-person action game with RPG elements, in which we take on the role of Jesse Rentier to face the hordes of the undead. Our monster hunter excels with all types of weapons, using, among others, a rapid-firing revolver, a powerful shotgun or a precision crossbow. In direct combat, we massacre enemies with hurricane blows of the combat gauntlet, skillfully using recoil, block and counterattack. As we progress in the game, we unlock access to new abilities that increase the effectiveness of Jesse's arsenal or give him new features (such as the ability to electrocute).

Different types of opponents await pacification. Some of them are threatening mainly in large groups (Boo-hags), others can dodge small-caliber bullets (Nagals), or even attack from the air and summon bats (Highborns). In addition to combat, we engage in exploration - we visit, among others, an abandoned town, a canyon or a gold mine. In the locations there is no shortage of opportunities to squeeze through crevices, overcome narrow rock shelves, move heavy objects or descend on a rope.

Game modes

The story campaign of Evil West can be played both alone and in networked co-op (both users take on the role of Jesse). This mode allows us to use different tactics, and at the same time presents us with new challenges.
