The Sims 3 is the next part of the best-selling series launched in 2000. The game is a simulation of human life, from birth to death itself with accompanying events (first kiss, marriage, retirement, etc.).

Developers have made many improvements over what was offered in The Sims 2 and its add-ons. In "three", when creating a new character, the player chooses five from a pool of almost a hundred different personality-defining traits. This decision is worth thinking about, because the indicated elements have a considerable impact on gameplay, for example, a Sim characterized by wisdom definitely learns faster, and as a consequence has a greater chance of promotion at work. The number of need bars has been reduced from eight to six. The Sims have a kind of humor - their mood depends on whether they experience positive or negative events in the form of both everyday activities and very rare ones (such as the birth of a child or the death of a loved one).

With The Sims 3, a system of dreams, similar to the desires from "two", is introduced into the gameplay. Buying a child a telescope can make him dream of a career as an astronomer. Meeting an attractive person, a Sim can decide to become friends with her. It is worth noting that there are no penalties for unrealized resolutions and dreams - they are simply forgotten and replaced by others.

Minor changes have also touched the professional sphere. The user is able to control working hours to a certain extent - decide to leave early or stay after hours. He can also determine his attitude to his superior - wanting to get a promotion easily one should simply suck up to him. An opportunity system has been directly linked to the career, which can be explained by the following example: when a dishwasher breaks down in a restaurant, Sim gets a chance to prove himself by washing a pile of dirty plates.

Nevertheless, the biggest novelty compared to previously released items is the lack of boundaries between plots. Individual locations are no longer cut out fragments of the virtual world, but form a single whole. Thanks to this, Sim can easily stroll through the streets of the town or visit neighbors. What's more, leaving the boundaries of his own plot, time does not stop for the other members of the family - the virtual world lives its own life, and the characters controlled by the user are part of a larger whole. Nevertheless, the decisions made by the player have a greater or lesser impact on the fate of the residents of the area.
