Game Description
Hitman 3 Deluxe Edition is now sold on PC as HITMAN World of Assassination Deluxe Edition. It is a third-person stealth sandbox from IO Interactive that combines the complete World of Assassination trilogy with premium expansion content, replayable contracts, live targets, and the optional Freelancer and PC VR modes.
The old Hitman 3 name still appears in legacy DLC labels and player searches, but it is not the current standalone storefront branding. New buyers are choosing between HITMAN World of Assassination and its Deluxe Edition, while the separate Deluxe Pack can also be purchased as an upgrade.
Open-Ended Assassination Gameplay
Every main mission places Agent 47 inside a dense location with targets, guards, civilians, restricted areas, disguises, security systems, and several possible routes. The objective is not simply to reach a target and pull the trigger. You first study the environment, learn who belongs where, identify useful items, and decide how much risk your chosen approach creates.
The defining loop is scouting, infiltration, manipulation, assassination, and escape. You can impersonate staff, steal access cards, poison food, sabotage machinery, create distractions, isolate a target, or engineer an apparent accident. If a plan breaks down, the same level can support an improvised escape, a controlled firefight, or a complete restart from an earlier save.
Hitman is built around repeatable mission sandboxes rather than a conventional linear action campaign. Mastery comes from learning patrols, discovering shortcuts, unlocking new starting locations, and finding more elegant solutions on later attempts. The best runs often look effortless because the preparation happened before the assassination began.
The camera remains firmly third person, giving players a clear view of Agent 47 while they move through public spaces, staff-only areas, security zones, rooftops, tunnels, and interiors. It is a strong fit for players who prefer deliberate observation and environmental problem-solving over constant combat.
Systems That Make Each Level Reusable
Disguises are central to the game, but they are not universal permission slips. A guard may accept one uniform while rejecting another, and suspicious behavior can expose 47 even when his clothing appears correct. Social stealth therefore depends on knowing who is allowed to enter a particular area and how long you can remain there without attracting attention.
Mission Stories can guide newcomers toward notable opportunities, but they are optional. Following one may reveal a target's routine, provide access to a restricted location, or create a themed assassination setup. Experienced players can ignore the guidance and build their own route around items, disguises, accidents, sniper positions, or close-range tools.
Progression is tied to location mastery. Completing challenges unlocks weapons, disguises, starting points, hidden stashes, and alternate insertion options. This structure rewards experimentation without turning Agent 47 into a statistical role-playing character. Your growing advantage comes from equipment and knowledge rather than inflated damage numbers.
The game also includes Contracts Mode, Escalations, Featured Contracts, Elusive Target Arcade, and other challenge formats. These modes reuse locations with altered targets, restrictions, objectives, or complications, giving familiar spaces a different tactical purpose.
Freelancer, Live Targets, and VR
Freelancer changes the usual campaign rhythm with roguelike structure, strategic planning, persistent equipment, and a customizable safehouse. Players select syndicate assignments, investigate locations, manage limited gear, and deal with the consequences of failure. It is less about perfecting one scripted assassination and more about making a series of increasingly difficult decisions.
Freelancer also changes how equipment is treated. Items taken into an operation can be lost when a campaign fails, so preparation matters more than in the standard missions. The mode is a strong reason to buy the full World of Assassination edition rather than a limited entry package.
Elusive Target Arcade turns selected elusive targets into permanent multi-stage contracts with added complications and unlockable rewards. Traditional Elusive Targets retain their special structure, while newer premium formats can add extra challenges, cosmetics, and mission variations.
On PC, the full game supports PC VR across the World of Assassination trilogy. Supported PC VR setups include SteamVR hardware such as Valve Index and HTC Vive devices, as well as Meta Quest headsets connected through Link. VR access is not included with the limited Part One package.
What the Deluxe Edition Includes
The current Deluxe Edition is not simply a cosmetic upgrade to the final Hitman campaign. It combines the standard World of Assassination package with the three products in the World of Assassination Deluxe Pack.
- HITMAN World of Assassination, including Hitman 3, the Hitman 1 GOTY Access Pass, and the Hitman 2 Standard Access Pass.
- Hitman 2 Expansion Access, adding New York, Haven Island, Hantu Port, Siberia, Special Assignments, and themed equipment packs.
- Hitman 3 Deluxe Pack, with six Deluxe Escalation Contracts, deluxe suits and items, digital soundtracks, a digital World of HITMAN book, and director commentary for mission introductions.
- Seven Deadly Sins Collection, a seven-part set of themed contracts with unusual objectives, modifiers, and rewards.
The Deluxe Edition does not automatically include every later cosmetic, celebrity, or special assignment pack sold for World of Assassination. Players who want a specific pack should check whether it is part of the Deluxe Pack or a separate purchase.
The most important buying distinction is simple: the standard edition provides the trilogy's main location package, while the Deluxe Edition adds the Hitman 2 expansion locations and the major Hitman 3 premium collections. It is not an all-DLC bundle.
Who Should Play It?
Hitman World of Assassination suits players who enjoy stealth puzzles, systemic environments, disguises, creative tools, and missions that become richer through repetition. It rewards curiosity more than reflexes, although combat and emergency escapes remain available when a quiet plan fails.
It is also a good choice for players who want a long-term solo game with several layers of mastery. The main campaign, Contracts, Escalations, Elusive Target Arcade, Freelancer, and VR all use the same locations differently, so the content model is closer to a reusable simulation playground than a one-pass story adventure.
Players looking for direct co-op should know that the current PC product is fundamentally single-player. There is no standard co-operative campaign, split-screen mode, or competitive multiplayer mode in the storefront feature set.
For a smaller third-person stealth experience focused on shadow powers, patrol reading, and careful infiltration, supernatural assassin sandboxes like Aragami Collector's Edition provide a useful comparison, although Aragami is more linear and supports online co-op in its own ecosystem.
PC Features, Launchers, and Localization
The PC version supports keyboard and mouse input as well as tracked controller support. Steam lists achievements, Steam Cloud, Family Sharing, a third-party EULA, and VR support. The game is also available through Epic Games and the Windows PC ecosystem, with platform-specific account and launcher requirements.
Because World of Assassination includes featured live content, Elusive Target services, account progression, and regular game updates, players should treat it as a connected PC service even though the core experience is presented as single-player. The game has no verified competitive anti-cheat requirement because it does not provide a conventional multiplayer mode.
Steam lists English full audio and interface or subtitle support for French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. The storefront language table separates full audio from text support, so only English is listed with complete voice coverage there.
Players who prefer supernatural first-person infiltration may also find useful mechanical overlap in immersive stealth adventures such as Dishonored: Death of the Outsider. Dishonored offers more direct powers and combat improvisation, while Hitman places greater emphasis on disguises, routines, social access, and staged accidents.
Similar Stealth Games on PC
The closest alternative inside this catalog is classic contract-based stealth like Hitman: Blood Money. Blood Money is more compact and older in structure, but it shares the central appeal of studying a target, exploiting a location, and deciding whether a kill should look accidental or deliberate.
Hitman differs from conventional stealth games because detection is not always an immediate failure. A compromised disguise, a discovered body, or an alarm can become another problem to solve. The sandbox remains valuable even when the original plan is gone.
Players who want the broadest version of the modern Hitman formula should choose the full World of Assassination package. Players interested only in selected maps or a lower entry cost may prefer the standard edition, but the limited Part One product does not provide Freelancer or PC VR access.
HITMAN World of Assassination FAQ
Is Hitman 3 Deluxe Edition still the current name?
No. Hitman 3 was rebranded as HITMAN World of Assassination. The current PC storefront product is called HITMAN World of Assassination Deluxe Edition, although older Hitman 3 names remain attached to some access passes and DLC labels.
Does the Deluxe Edition include Hitman 1 and Hitman 2?
Yes. The standard World of Assassination package inside the Deluxe Edition includes the Hitman 1 GOTY Access Pass and Hitman 2 Standard Access Pass. The Deluxe additions then unlock the Hitman 2 expansion content, including New York and Haven Island.
Does the Deluxe Edition include every World of Assassination DLC pack?
No. It includes the Hitman 2 Expansion Access Pass, Hitman 3 Deluxe Pack, and Seven Deadly Sins Collection. Later celebrity packs, special assignments, and other premium content may be sold separately.
Does Hitman World of Assassination have co-op on PC?
No. The main PC product is a single-player stealth game. It supports solo campaign missions, Contracts, Escalations, Elusive Target Arcade, Freelancer, and PC VR, but not a standard co-op campaign or split-screen mode.
Does the Deluxe Edition include Freelancer and PC VR?
Yes. The full World of Assassination package, including the Deluxe Edition, provides access to Freelancer and PC VR. The limited Part One package does not include those modes.
What is the real gameplay structure?
There is no fixed linear mission path that defines the whole experience. The game is built around replayable sandboxes, location mastery, challenge unlocks, Contracts, Escalations, live-target formats, and Freelancer campaigns. Its progression comes from learning spaces and expanding your available approaches.
