Touken Ranbu Warriors

Touken Ranbu Warriors is another installment of the popular series and the first shown in 3D perspective. The main element of the game is spectacular battles, which we conduct with the support of a group of NPCs.

Storyline

The story of the game begins in 2205. As a certain Saniwa, we are given the command to stop the Revisionists of History, seeking to change its course for their own benefit. To defeat them, we will have to travel through different time periods and fight members of the HRA army. In our quest we will be supported by a dozen Touken Danshi, tools imbued with the power of spirits.

Mechanics

The action is observed from a third-person perspective. During the game we traverse linear locations, and time and again hordes of enemies stand in our way. Clashes with them take place in specially designated areas, from which we will not be released until we defeat a sufficient number of opponents. During duels we have at our disposal different types of attacks: fast, area and special, allowing us to throw opponents into the air or hold them in place. Thanks to the right combination of blows, extending combos and quickly disposing of enemies, we acquire a style meter, assessing how well we did in a given fight.

After each clash we receive experience points, money and materials. Their amount is determined by the number of defeated opponents and the style in which we won. Each level gained increases our stats (health, damage dealt, etc.), and with materials we improve our headquarters. Upgrades allow us to gain new companions with unique abilities used during battles. In the headquarters we also encounter various random events unique to the location, and can play the available mini-games.

An addition to the basic game mechanics is a photo mode, allowing us to capture any moments from the storyline. We can also choose a mode that determines the level of difficulty of the game: "easy", suitable for beginners, devoid of some of the mechanics that make gameplay difficult, and "regular", created for those experienced in action games.

Technical issues

For the first time in the history of the series, the title was realized in 3D perspective. The graphics were kept in a style typical of anime, full of color and abounding in elements characteristic of Japanese culture.
