Mount Kafuku is cursed. Defilement spreads like rot. You're Soh, blade in hand, protecting a shrine maiden named Yoshiro. By day, you clean villages. By night, you fight. This is Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, Capcom's weird blend of slasher action and tower defense.

The day-night cycle is the core. Daytime means exploring, saving villagers, assigning masks that turn them into fighters. You set traps, build barricades, plan. Then night falls. Hordes pour out. You lead the defense, switching between sword combos and commanding troops. Easy? Not really. One mistake and the maiden's done for.

What Makes Kunitsu-Gami Special

The combat feels dance-like. Soh's sword moves flow into each other. You dodge, strike, combo. But you're not alone - villagers follow orders. Change their masks mid-fight to adapt. A farmer becomes a mage? Yeah, that happens. You learn to think on your feet.

Honestly, the atmosphere is thick. Japanese folklore bleeds through every frame. Masks, dances, creepy Seethe monsters. The purification ritual where Yoshiro dances to cleanse defilement - it's strangely beautiful. One time I just stood there watching. Got me killed, but worth it.
