Exploration is the backbone here. You sail between islands on a small boat, surf across open water, or dive into the depths. The world doesn't lock you into one path. Like in Necesse, island exploration and base building mix survival elements. You gather resources, craft gear, and build bases that actually feel like home. Not gonna lie - I spent an hour just decorating my first hut.
Combat mixes magic, melee, and ranged weapons. Ancient guardians block your way to powerful Elder Spirits. You fight them solo or with up to 9 friends. Co-op changes everything. Suddenly gathering runs become group trips. Boss fights turn into coordinated chaos. Easy? Not really. But that's the fun part.
