How The Last Citadel Plays
You pick a role - DPS, Healer, or Tank. Honestly? If you go in blind, you will die fast. The game rewards coordination. In co-op, roles matter more as difficulty scales up.
Before each run you choose 4 abilities from over 45. Pick a suit and a weapon. Rifles, lasers, rocket launchers, melee - they are all there. If you liked The Ascent, the twin-stick inspiration is clear. You also stack passives during expeditions, changing your approach every time.
The layout changes procedurally every run. Cursed weapons, helpful drones, weapon altars show up. Some runs feel clean. Others? Not so much. That is the fun part.
The Guardians hit hard. Learn their patterns or wipe. Easy? Not really. But when you finally clear a tough boss, it feels earned.
