You start with nothing. A blank canvas. Build your first road. Then a house. Then a factory. But nothing works without resources. You need iron, coal, and workers. Workers need food, heat, and education. I died. A lot. Figuratively, at least - my economy collapsed more times than I count.
Managing the workforce is tricky. Build schools to train engineers. Keep citizens happy or productivity drops. Trade with Eastern or Western markets - exchange rates matter. Import what you lack, export your surplus. Easy? Not really.
Transportation is key. Build bus lines, trams, trains. A single bottleneck can ruin your whole chain. Sometimes you just stand there and stare at traffic jams.
