How Deathbound Plays
The core hook is simple: kill enemies, absorb their essence. You take their identities, memories, and combat skills. Switch between them mid-fight to chain combos. Easy? Not really. The morph strikes hit hard, but timing is everything. Sometimes you just stand there and stare at the health bar.
The 4-hero party system lets you build a squad from absorbed warriors. Their living relationships affect their dead synergy. Pair the right souls, and you get buffs that save your hide. Pair wrong, and... well, you'll figure it out. I died. A lot.
Boss encounters are tied to the five stages of grief. Each stage changes the fight. You face denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance. The game does not telegraph these shifts. You learn by getting flattened. For fans of Bleak Faith Forsaken or Mortal Shell, this will feel familiar but fresh.
