PANICORE puts you in the shoes of an urban explorer - the kind of person who sees a boarded-up building and thinks: “Yeah, I should definitely go in there.” This time it’s an abandoned hospital. The lights are gone, the corridors feel wrong, and the place has that heavy silence that makes you lower your voice in real life.

You’re not here to fight. You’re here to get out. And the building doesn’t want to let you leave. Like in Routine, where you’re trapped on a moon base gone silent, every step feels watched.

What you do in PANICORE

You play from a first-person view (FPP). You move through dark rooms and long hallways, searching for scattered items and using them to unlock your escape. The structure leans into that escape-room vibe: find something, figure out where it fits, use it correctly, and open the next piece of the route out.

Sounds manageable, right? Then you remember you’re being hunted.

Explore, collect, connect the dots

The hospital isn’t a simple straight line. You’ll be checking corners, entering rooms that look empty until they aren’t, and picking up useful objects along the way. Examples mentioned include things like a canister or a hand wood saw - practical items that become puzzle keys when you use them in the right place.

If you like puzzles that come from the environment, this is your loop: explore - gather - solve - push forward.

The monster changes everything

There’s a monster living in this building, and it doesn’t just wander around for atmosphere. It follows your trail, and it can hear your footsteps. That one detail alone changes how you play. You start thinking in small choices: Do you risk a faster route, or take the longer hallway to stay quiet? Do you grab that item now, or wait because you heard something behind you? Facing a Pneumata-like horror in desolate spaces heightens the dread here too.

Most importantly: you can’t fight it. So your “tools” are your brain and your nerves.

• Stealth matters - staying quiet is part of survival.
• Hiding is real gameplay - you can slip into cabinets, get under tables, or melt into shadows.
• Running is the last option - sometimes you just break and sprint. It happens.

It’s basically hide-and-seek, except the seeker is relentless and the stakes are your entire run.

Solo play or online co-op

You can play singleplayer if you want the full “alone in the dark” experience. But PANICORE is built to shine in online co-op. With other players, the hospital feels different. You can split up to search faster (risky), or stick together and coordinate every move (also risky, just in another way). Someone has to carry items, someone has to watch angles, and someone will inevitably whisper “don’t move” at the worst possible time.

Co-op also fits the story setup: you’re part of a group of urban explorers who pushed too far into a place that even local authorities warned about. Now you’re trapped, and teamwork isn’t a nice bonus - it’s the plan.

Multiple escape routes

PANICORE features multiple distinct escape routes. That means you’re not always aiming for a single identical solution every time. You still need to find the right items and use them in the right spots, but the way out can vary, which can keep the pressure fresh when you replay.

Who PANICORE is for

If you enjoy first-person survival horror where tension comes from being hunted, PANICORE leans into that. If you like puzzles that feel like you’re piecing together an exit from a hostile location, it’s on your wavelength. And if you want a co-op horror night where communication actually matters, the online mode is the obvious pick.

Just don’t expect heroics. In PANICORE, the “power fantasy” is simple: you stay calm, you stay quiet, you solve the puzzle, and you make it out.
