You explore Minakami Village in third person, but when a ghost appears, the camera switches to first person. You look through the Camera Obscura. That is when things get real. Not gonna lie, aiming at a floating spirit while your heart pounds takes some getting used to.

The remake adds Focus, Zoom, and Filter Switching to the Camera Obscura. Filters work both in combat and exploration, so the camera is more than just a weapon. It is your only way to see what is hidden. I died. A lot. Especially when I forgot to charge a shot properly.

There is also a new Holding Hands mechanic with Mayu. It sounds small, but when you are walking through a dark hallway and your sister's hand is the only warmth nearby, it matters. The bond between Mio and Mayu is the heart of this story. Available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese Simplified and Chinese Traditional. Audio comes in English and Japanese.
