Inside Monstrum
Monstrum is a first-person survival horror roguelike. You explore a derelict freighter with one goal: find three key items and escape. The ship's layout changes every time. Items spawn randomly. Even the monster you face is picked at the start. You never know what you'll get.
Stealth is everything. You can hide in lockers, under tables, behind pipes. You can toss objects to create noise and lure the monster away. But if it spots you, you're dead. Permanent death. No retries. Honestly? That's what makes it tense.
Each monster has a distinct AI. The Brute smashes through doors. The Fiend uses speed. The Twitchy one reacts to light. You'll need to adapt your strategy on the fly. Easy? Not really. But when you finally trigger the escape sequence, it feels earned.
