Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts

Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts is the fourth installment of the Sniper: Ghost Warrior series developed by CI Games, a Polish company. This time players go to Siberia to once again eliminate their targets.

Storyline

The action takes place in the near future in Siberia, which gained independence after the war with Russia. However, the new authorities are no better than the old ones. Armed resistance groups are being formed in the country to overthrow the rule of the mindless rich. The main character, Seeker, is hired by a guerrilla militia and his targets become important figures of the new authorities.

Mechanics

As in previous installments, Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts lacks the fast-paced action typical of classic FPSs. As the titular sniper, the player goes into enemy territory with the task of killing specific people or capturing designated items. The protagonist is not a typical killer, able to take out hordes of enemies on his own. Therefore, the key issue is to avoid detection, either by sneaking behind enemies' backs or eliminating them silently.

Unlike Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, the game lacks an open world. The developers focused on a more limited, and thus condensed experience. Instead of sandbox-like exploration, the player receives semi-open locations with a few obligatory main objectives and a lot of side challenges. Smaller maps still give a lot of freedom, because the objectives can be approached in any order and usually from several directions.

An important novelty is the contract system. The game rewards players with a predetermined amount for completing a task, but players can also complete additional objectives to receive bonuses. Each contract can be undertaken repeatedly, which allows to earn additional funds and try different ways of completing the mission. For the earned currency we develop our character and buy better weapons and gadgets that help in combat.

Game modes

Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts offers both single player campaign and multiplayer.

Technical issues

The developers of Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts did not introduce a revolution in visuals compared to the third installment. Instead, they focused on improving the game's performance, including reducing load times.
