Game Description
Horizon Chase Turbo is a PC arcade racing game built around short, fast races, colorful international routes, and straightforward handling inspired by 1980s and 1990s console racers. The name has not been replaced by a new edition or rebrand. However, its digital storefront status changed on June 1, 2026: new purchases were removed from digital stores, while existing owners can continue downloading and playing the game and its owned add-ons.
Developed and published by Brazilian studio AQUIRIS, Horizon Chase Turbo is the expanded PC version of the Horizon Chase formula. It focuses on speed, route awareness, fuel management, overtaking, and repeat attempts rather than realistic vehicle simulation or licensed motorsport presentation.
Fast arcade racing with a top-down perspective
Races use a raised, behind-the-car camera that keeps most of the road visible at once. This perspective makes traffic, bends, fuel pickups, nitro canisters, and collectible tokens easy to read while still giving the cars a strong sense of speed.
The handling is deliberately accessible. You steer, accelerate, brake when needed, and spend Nitro to overtake rivals or recover lost ground. The challenge comes from maintaining momentum through corners, avoiding collisions, collecting useful items, and learning which parts of each route reward aggression.
Fuel is not decorative. Running out of fuel can end a promising race, so collecting fuel canisters becomes part of the driving line. Tokens add another layer for completionists, especially when trying to earn the best results on every course.
That structure gives Horizon Chase Turbo a clear mastery loop: finish races, learn the track, improve your route, collect more objectives, and return for a cleaner run. It is closer to a sequence of compact arcade challenges than a story-driven career.
World Tour progression and competitive modes
World Tour is the central solo mode. It moves through a wide range of fictionalized locations and environments, unlocking further races, cars, and upgrades as you progress. Winning is useful, but collecting tokens and meeting event objectives can matter just as much for long-term completion.
Vehicle upgrades improve the usefulness of your garage without turning the game into a tuning simulator. Cars have different performance characteristics, so choosing the right vehicle for a route can be as important as simply selecting the fastest option.
Tournament Mode groups races into compact cups with escalating competition. It is a good fit for players who want a defined session structure instead of moving through the full World Tour.
Endurance Mode extends the arcade format into longer runs of consecutive races. The appeal is less about narrative progression and more about maintaining consistency while fatigue, mistakes, and resource management begin to compound.
Playground adds rotating challenge-oriented events and time-focused competition. These shorter tests give experienced players a reason to return after completing the main tour, particularly when they enjoy chasing better personal results.
Senna Forever and the add-on content model
The base game is a paid arcade racer, with additional content sold separately rather than a free-to-play structure. Its gameplay add-ons include Summer Vibes, the free Rookie Series campaign, and the paid Senna Forever expansion.
Summer Vibes adds a themed set of races and a classic open-top roadster. Rookie Series is designed as a more approachable campaign for new players and families. These packs expand the existing racing format without changing the game's fundamental handling model.
Senna Forever is the most substantial expansion. It introduces a dedicated career campaign inspired by Ayrton Senna, a new first-person cockpit view, additional cars and tracks, race-preparation choices, and a Championship Mode with randomized elements.
The expansion also adds Senna's Marks, optional objectives tied to the campaign, along with local multiplayer support for its championship content. It is the clearest choice for players who want more structured progression and a distinct driving perspective.
The separate soundtrack listing should not be confused with a gameplay expansion. The core game and its gameplay DLC are the relevant content choices for players evaluating the catalog entry.
Who should play Horizon Chase Turbo?
Horizon Chase Turbo suits players who want quick arcade races, readable controls, bright environments, and a progression system that respects short sessions. It works especially well for fans of older console racers who prefer immediacy over complex vehicle setup.
It is also a strong fit for local multiplayer groups. The game supports up to four players on one screen, making it suitable for couch competition, family play, and controller-based party sessions.
Players looking for a realistic racing simulator, licensed cars, deep suspension tuning, or a persistent online racing community should look elsewhere. Horizon Chase Turbo is focused on fictional vehicles, compact events, and local competition rather than online matchmaking.
The game is similarly less suitable for anyone expecting a traditional campaign with characters, dialogue, or a dramatic plot. Its progression is built from races, unlocks, upgrades, trophies, and improved driving lines.
PC controls, multiplayer, and platform features
The PC version has full controller support and is designed around simple arcade inputs. Keyboard play is possible, but an analog controller generally gives better control over steering and throttle during fast corners.
Steam features include Remote Play Together, Steam Cloud, achievements, trading cards, and shared or split-screen play. Remote Play Together is particularly useful when local multiplayer participants are not physically using the same display.
There is no online competitive racing mode with dedicated matchmaking. Multiplayer is local or shared through supported Steam features, so the game should be purchased for its couch-style competition rather than conventional online play.
Steam lists interface and subtitle support for English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Russian. The PC version is also associated with Windows, macOS, and Linux builds through its Steam configuration.
Because the game is delisted, storefront access is now an ownership question rather than a normal purchase comparison. Players who already claimed the title or its add-ons should retain library access, but availability for new buyers should not be assumed from an active product page alone.
Comparable arcade racers on PC
Players who enjoy the same combination of quick races, accessible handling, and local competition may also want to examine arcade rally racing with split-screen play in Super Woden Rally Edge. Its surface changes and rally focus make it more technical, but the emphasis on approachable driving and repeatable events is comparable.
For a more aggressive interpretation of arcade racing, combat-focused arcade racing like Screamer adds attacks, defensive abilities, and futuristic tournament structure. It is a very different tone from Horizon Chase Turbo, yet both prioritize immediate inputs and event-based racing over simulation-heavy setup.
Neither comparison replaces Horizon Chase Turbo's particular mix of international scenery, collectible objectives, four-player local racing, and retro presentation. The closest match depends on whether you value relaxed speed, rally surfaces, or combat systems.
Horizon Chase Turbo FAQ
Is Horizon Chase Turbo still available to buy on PC?
No. The game and its digital add-ons were removed from sale on June 1, 2026. Existing owners can still download and play content attached to their accounts, but new buyers should not expect normal storefront purchasing access.
Was Horizon Chase Turbo renamed?
No verified rebrand replaced the title. The PC game remains known as Horizon Chase Turbo. The important current change is its delisted storefront status, not a new official name.
Does Horizon Chase Turbo have online multiplayer?
No traditional online multiplayer mode is included. The game supports local multiplayer for up to four players, shared or split-screen play, and Steam Remote Play Together.
What is the main single-player mode?
World Tour is the main progression mode. You travel through themed locations, complete races, unlock vehicles and upgrades, and replay events to improve results or collect more track objectives.
What DLC is included or available?
The gameplay add-ons are Summer Vibes, Rookie Series, and Senna Forever. Rookie Series is free content, while Summer Vibes and Senna Forever were paid expansions. The soundtrack is a separate non-gameplay listing.
