How AETHUS Plays

The main loop is clear from the start: gather, build, upgrade, repeat. You mine natural deposits and explore abandoned facilities left by a failed science expedition. Like Stranded Alien Dawn, you manage survival on an alien world. Exploration ties directly to progression. Easy? Not really.

Your base uses a modular system with specialized stations for refining, processing, and crafting. Greenhouses and aquariums add a personal touch. Honestly, it makes the place feel alive. You can also decorate habitats with found items, which adds a lighter layer to the gritty survival loop.

At first, Maeve has only basic mining equipment. Later, lasers, explosives, and drills unlock new resource types and deeper exploration. Your suit and AI drone companion upgrade too. There is a narrative thread. Maeve is escaping ARC while investigating a powerful new element and the secrets buried on this planet. Her only steady companion is an AI-controlled drone. The remains of the failed expedition give the setting a quiet, uneasy mood. I died. A lot. But the story kept pushing me forward.
