How XCOM Plays

The game has two layers: the strategy layer and the tactical layer. In the strategy layer you manage your base, research projects, and decide which continent to panic-save next. Sometimes you just sit there staring at the hologlobe trying to figure out where the next terror mission hits.

The tactical layer is where the magic happens. Turn-based combat with destructible environments, flanking bonuses, and height advantages. Your soldiers level up and gain abilities - snipers can shoot across the map, supports can heal and suppress. But permadeath means every loss hurts. Easy? Not really.

Available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Korean and more languages. Randomly generated missions keep things fresh. One mission you're defending a crashed UFO, next you're assaulting an alien base. You never know what you'll face.
