The game splits neatly into two: a turn-based campaign map where you manage your kingdom, and real-time battles with thousands of units charging at each other. Yeah, it gets chaotic.

Not gonna lie - the first few hours are brutal. You learn by losing. But that is what makes success so satisfying.

How King Arthur II Plays

This is a strategy game with RPG bones. You lead King Arthur's forces across a detailed map of Britain - including Scotland this time. On the campaign map, you move armies, build structures, and make diplomatic choices. Then real-time combat kicks in, and you command thousands of soldiers directly. Think of it like Crusader Kings II meeting a tactical RTS.

Boss fights shake things up. Huge monsters that require actual tactics. I died. A lot. But when you finally bring one down - worth it. The dark atmosphere is a step up from the first game, with a grim fantasy tone that fits the setting.

Multiplayer lets you test your skills against other players in tactical battles. If you enjoy Total War: WARHAMMER II, the large-scale combat will feel familiar, though with its own twist.
