Somerville is an action platform game developed by the independent Jumpship team - a studio founded by Dino Patti, i.e. one of the co-authors of the bestselling Inside and Limbo. The production tells the story of a handful of people trying to survive the invasion of an alien civilization.
Mechanics
In Somerville the action is observed from the side. As in the aforementioned Inside, the game involves traversing vast levels and solving more or less complicated puzzles - there is no shortage of arcade sections here, as well as moments when we have to sneak away from the sight of enemies of extraterrestrial origin. From time to time we also get to shoot aggressive aliens.
Technical issues
Somerville is characterized by original, dark and slightly cartoonish graphic design. Responsible for the preparation of the visual sphere of the described item was Chris Olsen - a film animator who took part in the creation of such productions as Thor, Avengers: Time of Ultron and Skyfall.
