Inside Project Castaway

So you crashed on an island. Now what? Pick up sticks. Make a knife. Build a bed. Sounds simple, right? Not really. Project Castaway keeps track of hunger, hydration, energy, and body temperature. Miss one, and things go south fast. You hunt birds, catch fish, cook meat, purify water. Routine stuff - but it is the kind of routine that keeps you alive.

Not gonna lie, I died. A lot. Especially on day one. The learning curve is gentle but unforgiving. The survival handbook acts as your crafting guide. Follow it, and you will go from stone tools to rafts in no time. Rafts matter because you are not stuck on one island. Pack up and sail to the next one. More resources. More danger.

Then there is the sanity system. Stay alone too long, and your mind starts breaking. Hallucinations appear. They attack you. Yeah, that happens. It adds a psychological twist to the usual survival loop. Play solo and it hits harder. Play Stranded Deep fans might recognize the setup, but Project Castaway pushes further with its co-op option - up to four players online. The Survivalists Deluxe Edition had monkeys helping out. Here, you rely on each other.
