Screamer
You step into the neon world of Screamer. This is the reboot of the arcade racer from 1995. You take part in a futuristic tournament where racing meets combat.
How You Race
You drive sport cars through city streets at top speeds. Yet you do more than cross the finish line first. You battle other drivers using special moves, like in Split/Second: Velocity. The ECHO system lets you switch between boost for speed, strike to hit rivals, and shield to protect yourself.
Your Goals in the Tournament
Do you race for love? Maybe revenge or ambition drives you? You choose from five teams. Soldiers, scientists, criminals, superstars, and ruthless magnates all compete. Each driver has a unique vehicle and ability that fits their style.
The Story You Follow
You experience a narrative with characters voiced by talents like Troy Baker. Cutscenes from Polygon Pictures bring the tale to life in a style inspired by 80s and 90s anime and manga. You see themes of longing, ambition, and vengeance play out.
Different Ways to Play
You can follow the story in singleplayer mode. Or you jump into multiplayer. Race online against others. Or grab a friend for split-screen action on the same console. Several game modes test your skills, including destructive vehicular chaos as in Carmageddon Rogue Shift. In some you focus on taking down opponents in team races. In others you try to stay in Overdrive as long as possible.
The Overdrive Moment
When you push the ECHO system to the limit, Overdrive activates. No mercy, no brakes. You clear the path with full-throttle chaos. Mastering this power turns you into a true Screamer.
You decide which driver to pick. Each one brings a different approach to the track. The mysterious master behind the tournament sets the stage for these brutal showdowns. Will you overcome every challenge? The release comes on March 26 2026 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
