Warhounds puts you in charge of a mercenary squad fighting turn-based tactical missions inspired by old-school action films. You view the field from above and move operators one careful step at a time. Assault troops push close. Snipers hold long lanes. Grenadiers break stubborn positions with heavy tools.

Gadgets change the pace of a fight. Drones and scanners open sightlines before you commit bodies. Smoke and optical camouflage help you break contact or close distance under pressure. Cover still matters, but walls and crates take damage. Hide too long in one spot and the protection disappears. That forces constant repositioning.

Success comes from building actions around each character's strengths and the shape of the terrain. A sniper holds a cone of vision down a street while an assault unit flanks through rubble.
