Metal Hellsinger

Metal: Hellsinger is a combination of first-person shooter and rhythm game, in which we traverse the regions of Hell and kill hordes of monsters to the rhythm of a metal soundtrack. The studio responsible for the game is The Outsiders, including one of the creators of such titles as Payday 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Storyline

In the game we play as Niewiadoma, half demoness, half human, who, driven by a lust for revenge, travels through the lower and lower regions of the Nightmare Realm (commonly known as Hell), to meet face to face with the Red Judge at the very end. Before that happens, however, before her there are plenty of skirmishes with hordes of demons and their vile commanders inhabiting the infernal depths, which, contrary to popular notions, consist not only of fiery wastelands, but also dark forests, ice lands and other twisted locations.

Mechanics

Metal: Hellsinger is a dynamic first-person shooter, in which we explore eight levels of hell. We are given white weapons in the form of a sword decorated with a skull, and firearms such as revolvers and a shotgun. Each of them has a special ability unique to itself, allowing to effectively and spectacularly get rid of enemies. These are divided into ordinary, rank-and-file hell spawn and their commanders who pose a greater challenge.

The gameplay here is dynamic and different from what we are used to from the representatives of the genre, because in addition to the efficient use of weapons, a lot depends here on our sense of rhythm. Here the key is to shoot to the beat of the metal songs accompanying us during the course of the game, which not only crank up the pace, but also allow us to inflict much more damage.

Technical issues

The metal sounds with which the game is filled are a real treat for fans of metal music, as we will find songs to which the vocalists of such bands as Arch Enemy (Alissa White-Gluz), Trivium (Matt Heafy) and Dark Tranquility (Mikael Stanne) lent their voices.
