Your grandfather's bracelet is stolen. By pigs. Not just any pigs - the Seven Evil Pigs and their Koma Pig underlings. You chase them. That's how Tomba! Special Edition starts. Simple, right? It isn't. The archipelago is huge, the locals need help, and you can bite enemies with your teeth. Yeah, that happens.

You crash into a world that keeps opening up. Side-scrolling paths shift into isometric angles. You hop between foreground and background to find secrets. Honestly? It's the kind of game where you turn around because a spot you passed earlier suddenly makes sense.

How Tomba! Special Edition Plays

Combat is scrappy. You flail, you throw boomerangs, you bite things. I died a lot in the first hour. Health comes from fruit - nothing fancy, just eat and keep moving. Quests pile up. A character mentions a problem, you solve it, get points, unlock more requests. It's a loop that pulls you forward.

The remaster adds Save Anywhere and Rewind. No more losing progress because of one bad jump. There's also a museum with old ads, manuals, and artwork. The soundtrack got a remaster by original composer Harumi Fujita. Available in English, Polish, German and other languages.

You can play solo or with a friend. Multiplayer includes two-player split-screen. Call out jumps or trade the controller when things get messy. I prefer going solo, poking into every corner. Sometimes you just stand there and stare at the colors.

This is for people who want a bright, weird platformer that doesn't hold your hand but also doesn't punish you for exploring. Tomba! Special Edition delivers that balance.
