How DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined Plays

You explore from a top-down view. Towns, ruins, forests - each area feels like a diorama. You meet people, pick up quests, and solve simple puzzles. Sometimes you just stand there and stare. The world is that detailed.

Combat is turn-based, but the remake speeds things up. You can adjust battle speed, skip pauses, and even defeat weak enemies in one hit without entering combat. That's nice when you're backtracking. You also get a dual-profession system called Moonlighting, a last-ditch ability called Let Loose, and a Monster Master job that summons monsters. Honestly? The job combos are where the fun hides.

The story comes in vignette-style segments. It's clearer than the original, with optional quests and minigames. Available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. Voiceovers in English and Japanese.

If you liked Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age or Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, this one fits right in.
