LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight Gameplay

Gotham City stays open from the start, and getting around feels half the fun. You can sprint through alleys, glide from rooftops with the cape, or smash through streets using the Tumbler. Arkham Asylum returns. ACE Chemicals too. Trust me on this. Driving into a crowd of LEGO trash cans at full speed somehow never gets old.

Combat mixes simple combos, gadget attacks, stealth sections, and detective sequences. Batman scans clues, rebuilds broken objects from bricks, and sneaks around enemies before jumping into messy brawls. I died. A lot. Mostly because I kept trying to fight Bane head-on instead of escaping and rebuilding the area around him.

The story moves through Batman's full career, from Bruce Wayne training with the League of Shadows to leading a larger family of heroes. LEGO Batman: The Videogame and LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes provide earlier glimpses into the franchise's humorous take on Gotham's heroes and villains, influencing how players experience the legacy in this latest installment with Joker, Penguin, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, and other villains constantly interrupting missions with jokes, traps, and ridiculous LEGO disasters. One scene throws exploding fish at police cars. Another has Batman silently sneaking through a museum while Robin accidentally breaks half the room.
