Tainted Grail Conquest

Tainted Grail: Conquest is a production that combines elements of RPG, roguelike and card game. The action of this title takes place in a dark universe known from the popular board game Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon and inspired by Arthurian legends and Celtic myths. Game was developed and published by Polish company Awaken Realms Digital.

Storyline

The world of Tainted Grail: Conquest was created by Polish writer Krzysztof Piskorski. It is an alternate version of the universe known from the Arthurian legends, in which the Knights of the Round Table died and the world was plunged into chaos caused by a dark force called Wyrdness.

Mechanics

In Tainted Grail: Conquest the game world is mostly viewed from above, although the camera often changes its position, zooming in and out to show us events from different perspectives. The production of Awaken Realms Digital team is an RPG game with distinct roguelike and card game elements.

The game takes place on the map, which looks slightly different in each game. The player controls a hero belonging to one of several different classes and explores the environment and fights with enemies, gaining new items and abilities (the latter are represented by cards, which we gradually collect, building an increasingly powerful deck). Clashes are realized in a turn-based system - the key role here is played by combining attacks and used items in devastating combinations.

The game also features a base-building mechanic, thanks to which we gain the ability to transfer our progress between successive approaches.

What is interesting, the difficulty level of Tainted Grail: Conquest increases gradually, as the land is increasingly influenced by dark forces.

Game modes

In Tainted Grail: Conquest we can play exclusively alone. The basis of the game is the story-driven single player mode.

Technical issues

Tainted Grail: Conquest has a fairly decent, three-dimensional graphic design. The graphics will probably not surprise anyone with anything extraordinary, but the creators managed to convey the unique atmosphere of the game universe well. Particularly noteworthy here are the original, terrifying monster designs.
