How Empires of the Undergrowth Plays
You start small. Just a queen and a few workers under a log. You dig tunnels, build chambers, and assign roles. Some ants gather food, others fight. The layout of your nest matters a lot. Mess it up and you waste time. Trust me on this.
The game offers two main modes. Formicarium mode lets you control a special ant species that absorbs DNA from enemies. Adapt and evolve. Campaign mode is narrative-driven, part skirmish, part documentary. You learn while you play.
Combat is real-time. Use pheromones to direct troops. Want to flank a beetle? Mark a spot. One wrong move and your whole squad gets wiped. Easy? Not really.
Fans of Smalland Survive the Wilds or Grounded will find a similar thrill here.
